As a Senior WordPress Developer at Happening Design, you will be at the forefront of website development, playing a crucial role in shaping the online presence of our clients. You will be responsible for creating, improving, and maintaining WordPress websites with an eye for design and a deep understanding of technical functionality. You will be an integral part of our small, high-performing teams (The HiPER Team) designed to rapidly deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. You’ll be a key member of the team tasked with contributing to a number of high-value projects within our organization.

• Develop and deploy responsive and interactive websites using WordPress.
• Develop, implement, and manage WordPress-based websites for our clients.
• Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
• Ensure high performance and availability of the websites, managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
• Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with our design team to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Provide technical support and education to team members and clients.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Incorporate application performance testing tools and optimization techniques
• Translate UI/UX designs into code, generally from Figma or Zeplin prototypes
• Provide leadership on coding best practices
• Incorporate disciplined, clean code practices per Robert Martin’s Clean Code
• Tightly collaborate with back-end developers and the user experience team
• Incorporate Extreme Programming practices such as pairing, test-driven development, continuous integration, and refactoring

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5 years of experience in WordPress development.
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, PHP, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience building user interfaces for websites
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of PHP back-end development and MySQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrable examples of large-scale corporate or brand websites worked on and deployed
• Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking and the ability to develop new, out-of-the-box ideas
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to project schedule/timelines
• You are detail-oriented and have highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• You must be a self-starter who will bring original ideas and fresh approaches to each project they work on.
